Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is ALLEA's Executive Board. According to the Statutes the Steering Committee consists of 9 full members. With exception of the Presidency, members of the Steering Committee are Academies (current members between parentheses):

• the President of ALLEA (Prof.dr. J. Engelbrecht);
• the Vice-President (Prof.dr. C.N.J. Mann);
• the Academy that hosted the preceding General Assembly (Institute of Spain, Spain);
• the Academy that will host the next General Assembly (Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences);
• six elected Member Academies:
  - Académie des Sciences, France;
  - Austrian Academy of Sciences, Austria;
  - The Royal Irish Academy of Sciences, Ireland;
  - Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), The Netherlands;
  - Slovak Academy of Sciences, Slovakia;
  - Turkish Academy of Sciences, Turkey.
  
  At present, the Steering Committee has two Observers (ex officio):
• IAP (Inter Academy Panel)
• EASAC (European Academies Science Advisory Council)
