Steering Committee To Members' area > The Steering Committee is ALLEA's executive committee. According to the Statutes the Steering Committee consists of 9 full Members. With exception of the Presidency, Members of the Steering Committee are Academies (current members between parentheses): the President of ALLEA (Prof.dr. J. Engelbrecht, ex officio); the Vice-President (Prof.dr. C.N.J. Mann, elected from the Steering Committee); the Academy that hosted the preceding General Assembly (Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences Krakow, and Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland); the Academy that will host the next General Assembly (Institute of Spain, Spain); six elected Member Academies (Union of German Academies of Sciences and Humanities, Germany; Académie des Sciences, France; Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), The Netherlands; Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia; Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), Turkey; British Academy, United Kingdom).

At present, the Steering Committee has two Observers (ex officio): IAP (Inter Academy Panel) EASAC (European Academies Science Advisory Council)
